At OpenAI DevDay 2026, one way that the power of the newest models were shown was through the ability to autonomously create Game Boy games through a partnership with ModRetro. As part of this, every attendee was given a ModRetro Chromatic with developer capabilities. While I couldn’t take advantage of the game jam at DevDay, I have been making a few games in my spare time. Here’s a few of my favorite experiments for the Game Boy Color and ModRetro Chromatic. Pick a cartridge to play right in the browser, or download a ROM to take it with you.
